Lay Lay Khin’s drawing was awesome, it made me think of a child’s imagination escaping from its mind and filling up its world. When I was a kid I would draw all the time, the image reminded me of being free and letting my imagination flow out onto the paper. Nowadays I use spray paint as one of my mediums, so I added them into the drawing. Now the cans are the instruments to help my thoughts and idea’s come to life.
Yok is an artist, illustrator, and publisher originally from Perth and now based in Brooklyn studio. Yok paints humorous, plump-headed, moustached characters on the streets and on canvas. Yok has exhibited in solo and group shows in New York, Tokyo, Taiwan, Beijing, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Berlin, Melbourne and Sydney.
